Even though Perl was not built for coding web pages, it can be combined optimally with HTML as a gateway between web server databases and web pages based on HTML technology. It can also be used to make computer system management solutions. Perl is a program designed to work with text which makes it optimal for scanning texts.

By the late 1990s, Perl was everywhere- from books and journals to conferences.
